MCM Worldwide is a leather luxury goods brand founded by Michael Cromer and bought out by Sungjoo Group in 2005. The brand’s signature logo-printed material, called Cognac Visetos, appears on many of its products. Its brass plate insignia is found on all heritage collection bags and most products; each brass plate is identified by a unique number at the bottom. MCM sells its products through wholesale accounts, franchises, and directly operated stores.

Mcm has poor leadership and management as an employer, a toxic working environment, and no work-life balance, a former employee claims at glassdoor.com

"- Upper management sees all employees as replaceable - They will also gossip about you behind your back - Managers take advantage of their associates who actually put in work to improve the store - Favoritism plays a very significant role in the company, if you’re not on their good side they will make sure to try to get rid of you - You have no work/balance life - Corporate is incompetent sometimes that us stores have to handle the situations they were hired to fix."

"• Gossips with management behind your back when you decide to leave the company even after all the hard work and dedication put into the store. • Inconsistent product allocation. • Constant miscommunication amongst stores and upper management. • False hopes and expectations. • No work life/balance . • Extremely high turnover."

Former Employee - Store Leader says

"If you want to working in environment where gossip takes presents over everything. Where area managers come in to sneak up on you, and find out the dirt on there store managers, and then use that against them. This is a place where no one cares about anyone, the hire management is so concerned with gossip, that results are Irrelevant. The leadership team is not Qualified to coach, and develop so they simply fire the store managers. With exceptions of a few managers that are untouchable. Be prepared to work double shifts all the time, answer calls on your days off.(reality is there are no days off with this company) Then when the time comes for promotions and, compensations, you will be told about there policy’s........ Run in the opposite direction."

Current Employee - Sales Associate says

"If I can give zero out of 5 stars, I would love to do that. The company is unfair and when you work for them you have to do a lot more work that is not part of your job description but never get any benefits. If you hired as sales, you have to do Backstock, cleaning, and the list goes on. Poor management has led to extensive staff turnover. ***Please look forward to coming to work on your day off and working more than 5 days in a row. After quitting the job please be patient as you are"

Former Employee - Operations Coordinator says

"You need to be president friend or used to work at the same company to move up, without that u will never get a promotion! Also, u can do whatever u want if u are friend with president, e.g. never show up at work, bill the company for family vacation, being drunk at work EVERYDAY, etc"

says

"No structure.. no guidance… no outlook… lack of leadership."

says

"Poor company culture - discriminate against women at all levels."

Current Employee - Sales Associate says

"corps managers planning stock policy"

"Small discount very poor support system."

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"Very little management from the top, small budgets, no career development plans"

Sales Associate (Former Employee) says

"The vice president is nothing but a coke head alcoholic that takes far too many vacations with his sugar babies. The head of west coast, Andre, only has his position because of his relations to the VP. He's far too under qualified for his position and puts all blame of the companies issues to anyone under him. The company has no vision and is desperately rolling out new product carelessly with no actual planning and expects the sales teams to improvise with success. A true luxury company plans thoroughly. If you want to work for a mess of a company that appreciates no talent within their company and only appreciates titles and egos and considers that talent, MCM is your place. The people in this company wouldn't know true fashion and luxury if it slapped them in the face."

Assistant Store Manager (Current Employee) says

"Overall, I was very excited to begin work with the brand after I was hired. However, all of the promises made were cast aside. Leadership is good at saying the right things, but hardly follows up. Development is their biggest area of opportunity and it feels like most people with specialized skill sets are not being utilized effectively."

Third Key Manager (Former Employee) says

"Growing company that needs is having its kinks worked out. Benefits are good. A typical day is filled with loyal and knowing clients coming in for specific pieces, or appointments have been made. Co-workers are smart and are not too competitive. Huge asian client base. Chinese is a plus.Great Products and product history, clients are loyal and niceManagement lacked, SOP not in place"

TELOSZAO says

"so I was going to order a new belt today, and it would not accept my credit card on the website, so I called the number at the bottom of the page. the lady who had answered decided to place the order from her side of things. we got the order complete, and when I got the tracking number I checked it and it was the wrong belt! so I informed her that it was the wrong belt. she then cancelled the order without telling me first and decided to try and re-order another belt, knowing that my funds were not returned to my card yet and wouldn't be for up to 30 days after they reversed it!!! so my card was declined as I only transferred enough to purchase the 1 belt into that account. she then told me that she cancelled the last order completely and that she would put me on hold and try to fix it. then proceeded to hang up on me... F****** B***!!!! I called back again and I was connected to a supervisor named Nick, he then told me that there was nothing he could do and that it all was up to MY bank and that it was basically over for me and that I had two wait... I am so unbelievably angry, i payed for 2 day shipping as well. absolutely worthless people would not recommend ever buying from this company unless from the outlet/boutique"

Unhappy MCM Shopper says

"Bought handbag from MCM UK store. Returned to my home country and saw security bag still on the strap ( rolled up inside the bag ). I emailed the store but was told to bring it back to the store (even when I told them I did not live in the UK). I asked whether the UK store could contact one of the MCM stores In my country, but was told to try contacting myself. They also suggested taking the bag to a shoe repair shop in the UK (again even when I said I don’t live in the UK). I emailed MCM customer service in my home country and was told the theft alarm system used was different from the UK MCM store. When I asked for the store managers email, she refused and said it’s personal data. I tried contacted UK MCM Worldwide online but was told the online store a was separate business from MCM branches. Its been a year now and I’ve tried very high street shop in my country begging them to try removing the security tags for me. Most of them look at me in a suspicious way and none of their systems could remove the tag. Such poor poor customer service. It’s like banging your head against a wall. Once you’re out of the shop, they don’t want to know!"

Kim says

"Don't shop here poor customer service I requested a refund due to the incorrect size they would NOT ASSIST ME WITH REFUND. ASKED TO SPEAK WITH SUPERVISOR 2 TIMES NO HELP WAS GIVEN. I ORDER SHOES CALLED RIGHT BACK WITHIN A HOUR TO CANCEL THERE POLICY SUCKS. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO THIS WEBSITE I'LL DEAL WITH DEPARTMENT STORES THAT CARRIES THERE BRAND. CUSTOMERS BEWARE"

Kenisha Smith says

"I would give MCM zero star if I could, I bought a medium tote from MCM, one they claim was built to last, not true at all, after about three years the leather started to peel in the back of the bag. The material they use to make this bag is cheap and definitely not made to last. I reached out to MCM’s customer service to see if I could have it repaired, I was told that any attempt to repair my bag would cause even more damage, this bag is garbage and I wish I had never bought it in the first place."
